Have just found my old super mario crystal screen,only problem is the screen is faded and you only see parts of game,can this be fixed as my nan bought me this late 80's and has huge sentimental value

I am sure you tried fresh batteries already. Other than replacing the LC glass wont help. If you see no or just some segments it can be a bad contact and maybe fixed, but faded segments is no good sign at all. maybe you can upload a photo if you are not certain.

Can you post a pic of the problem? I had one with faded screen and the front polarizer had to be replaced to fix it. It's a technical process and should be attempted only by a specialist. Unfortunately in the crystal screen models the LCD cannot be replaced since it is joined to the motherboard.
