I obtained a Club Nintendo Ball because it's cheaper, and I think it was a good decision because it's pristine for a Game & Watch since it was released only 4-5 years ago.

I'm wondering what's the differences between them are though.

One of the things I've noticed is that when you reach 290 points (or the same speed and higher of these amount of points) The ball images double in their lines. Was this part of the original Ball? Is this to combat LCD degradation?

Also, points on Game A go past 999, did this also happen on the original Ball?

Is the Club Nintendo Ball's faceplate metal? It feels strange for a Game & Watch faceplate, but then again this is my first silver series game, and I assume these faceplates aren't painted like the other ones. It gets cold like metal, so I assume it is.

I know that the original Silver and Gold series uses LR43 batteries, and this one uses a single CR battery instead.

Gameplay is virtually exactly the same as demonstrated in this video but they do eventually lose sync:
