Hi

Our Member Barr did send me a link to this auction:
www.ebay.com/itm/330931832620

Check out the picture showing a close up of the backside of the game.
You will notice that there the letter "o" in Nintendo is missing.

This is interesting: I checked my Octopus (I have 5 of them) and 2 of them are missing the “o”.
One serial starts with 14, the other with 15:

14725169
15865932

Interesting: both games are from France...!

I know that, because one game came inside a J.i21 box, the other game I bought lose, but it's the very rare game with the offer par VANDAME imprintend on the front (French advertising game).

Do you have such games missing the letter "o"? And what serial number do they have?

Patrick

I'm sure you will ship it :)

Do you remember where you got this game from?

Attached two pictures of my second Octopus missing the letter "o".

Shouldn't you just sell it to the one who bought it?

So, you will ship another Octopus to the winner of the auction?

Maybe the buyer did notice the missing "o" on your auction picture ...

Back to my original question: 8)

Does anyone of you here own such games missing the letter "o"?
If yes, what's the serial number?

Thank you!

Hi Patrick,

Interesting observation. I have 5 junk Octopi for spare parts and noticed that two of them are missing the "o". One of them has a serial number of 08447360 and the other one doesn't have a serial number.

Apparently it's not an incredibly rare error. Anyone else have one???

Ash

Hi Ash

Yes, I believe that there are many of them, but not thousands on the other hand.
Is it rare? Not very much I suppose.

There may very well be tens of thousands of them. Based on our small sample size (4 out of 10) it seems 40% of the 250,000+ manufactured may have this error, although probably much less than that. I would have never noticed this error in a million years without checking your forum. :)
