New collector - where to start? was created by plopp
Hi,
im a huge fan of old nintendo game & watch games, and recently found my old fire attack game, when cleaning out my old teen room, at my mothers house. I was really happy when i found this, and started to look around the web for enthusiasts of the games (and i found this place) Im thinking of buying some games. Where should i start? Any tips to an new collector? Things to look out for (great guide for copies on this site btw) Theres alot on ebay. Is Japan versions considered more rare?
Cheers!

Hello and welcome
My tipps are:
Think of what Game&Watch you want to collect. All 60 games or just a few, let's say Wide Screen Series games only?
Do you want them loose or boxed?
What condition (poor, good, excellent)?
Then check the average value of the games you want to by here:
www.gameandwatch.ch/en/prices-value-of-the-games.html
and here:
www.gameandwatch.ch/en/g-w-database-search.html
The best placs to buy the games are other collectors
www.gameandwatch.ch/en/forum/43-trade-sell.html
and of course online platforms such as ebay.
And another tipp: take yourself time, compare games/prices, obeye online auctions. Don't hit the Buy now button in a rush.
And finally: there are copies of Game&Watch items out there, such as boxes and manuals. But Batteries as well and other items. Check the pages here
www.gameandwatch.ch/en/gameandwatch-fakes.html
So, always check the pictures and description very closely before you buy.
