The serial number database is great Patrick, it is interesting to see how many times games have changed hands. I found a Mario Bros that I sold which features on your database 4 times!
Is that a record? :-k k

Yes, this could be a record! I don't know if there is a game listed more than four times, but I'll check that. Thank you for pointing this out, this is could be very interesting!
- Patrick
Edit:
And the winner is:
Serial number 43450447 is 6 times in the DB
Serial number V0713326 is 5 times in the DB
Serial number 41568689 is 5 times in the DB
Serial number 43243669 is 4 times in the DB
Serial number 19742939 is 4 times in the DB
Serial number 35146190 is 4 times in the DB
Serial number 17592331 is 4 times in the DB
Serial number V0668921 is 4 times in the DB
But remember: Some seller do reuse their templates and do forget to change the s/n for the next game...

This so totally is an awesome website. I had this vision the other day to open up a video game store. Since then i've bought a PS2, a game & watch, and a NES cart. Small beginnings but i have this big vision of where it might go. Although, it can be quite humbling when you find websites like these, or spot other peoples collection on the web. I've found crazy collection on the web today, the stuff thats in Tokyo is just out of this world!

Well, a store for retro games might be a great idea. You could offer replacing parts and repair as well if you're willing to get into it (or if you are already). I don't know any of such a store.

Yeah, hopefully one day. I think i'll give myself ten years to collect games and stuff and see how it goes. It would be really cool to collect old arcade coin-ops too, tabletops and stuff. Expensive territory, esp. since i'm not that rich or anything...

Thanks for the compliment!
In the very beginning I did use the watch list in my eBay. Because this watch list is limited to 100 auctions, I did set up almost 20 eBay ID's... With the Tool 'Auction Sentry' I was able to catch the data from my watch lists. But that was still far to much work...
Very soon I did look for another tool and I did find THE ultimate tool to watch auctions on eBay. It's called Baywotch. In the beginning of every month I do export all the data from there into an excel sheet and with the help of many macros I generate the data for the online MySQL database.
It still is a lot of work for creating the .mht files, resizing the pictures, assigning additional information to each auction like the game name, quality etc. and there is a lot more.
But it's fun! :lol:

Indeed, baywotch seems to be a great program... but not in english
anyway , you have informations about games sold in 2005 :shock:

the fun is that i found back games i bought with the complete description of the ebay auction...
Should be FUN to find all Games sold or buyed by a particular user
) would be a GREAT FUNCTIONNALITY ...
at least i would be able to calculate the sum i spend in buying games

The german version of a search by eBay user ID does allready exist.
)
But I did not put it to the public because of privacy concerns. With this search you really see all the auctions and the total amount a user did spend or get.
On the other hand, dealing on ebay means dealing in the public... I guess I'll finish the script and but it online

Of course I don't say no, I'll take the whole package! :lol:
Thank you very much for your offers!
I have a long ToDo list, the papers are a part of it. And I appreciate any help!
But first I'll have to set the priorities of what I want to implement here next. Then I'll get back to you!
)
And I'll gladly use your pics, since I haven't all games, papers etc. Your collection really is stunning!
A french version of G&W.ch would be nice, too. I only understand a little bit of French and I hardly can speak it. That's why I decided to implement G&W.ch in english as well, so all non german speaking visitors have a chance to read the informations here.
But I could use some help right now... The next thing I want to put online is the G&W quiz. It's a quiz where you have four answers to one question. It's like the "Who wants to be a millionaire" quiz.
There will be 15 question (= 15 levels) all together. To make the quiz more interesting, I need (or want) 15 questions for each level. They will be displayed randomly. This makes a total of 225 questions. I have about 90 by now. So, if you have interesting G&W questions, please send them to me (PM or mail), including the correct answer and the level you think it belongs to (level 1 = totaly easy, level 15 = very difficult). That would be great!

As i'm also UserBar Addcited....
i have made one for your great website...
Feel free tu use it at will ...
If you have any wish about it (changing something... like colors, sprites, text, .... ) just tell me
anyway the quality is not as best as i wish because of the sprite...
If i could have the sprites you use on your website (without transpaerency effect) it would be shown better on the userbar.

That's great, Mike! Thanks a lot!
I only have the sprites on the red background because I did merge them and I did not keep a copy without the background - how stupid! #-o o
If you like I can send you that one.
I'll recreate the sprites later on again, because I really could use them seperately. A lot of work which I could have avoid... :oops: ](*,) *,)
But the quality of the bar is OK, actually great!

Btw, since I don't speak german. Can't you try to get the others to post in here too Patrick?

or work with tools like Photoshop or paint shop pro and use "LAYERS"
But i have to admit that sometimes i forgot to make copy ... thus... can't blame you.
If you could recreate the sprites it would be GREAT as i'm not able to do such things... i already have tryed to take the sprite from your background and but im unable to make them darker without changing the background color also. i NEED to learn a lot of thinks in graphics tools...
Anyway i didn't remember when creating the first one that the forum (here) is in different colors...
thus here it is :
Should be usefull on other forums of course
because in here it does not show well because the userbar color and the background colors are the same...
@Ulf
I agree with you Ulf, this site is amazing.
Well there is more content on the german part of the site, but it's up to us (english part) to make it live.
For the PS user bar... yes ... why not...
i'll try to see what i'm able to do with your pics... because it's a really small (height : 19px) to make something pretty ... i'll try my best
After all thoose bars, I Should be called... the USERBAR GURU
indeed [-X X Always make a copyonly have the sprites on the red background because I did merge them and I did not keep a copy without the background - how stupid! d'oh!

I did pass your request over to the members in the german forum. Let's see, hopefully some of them like to post here as well!
I'm glad you like the database and that is usefull to you!
@Mike
Thank you a lot for the second bar! You're really doing a great job! I had all the sprites in a nice dark black on a seperate layer. Then I reduced the brightness down to about 40% and merged them with the background. I'll check my backup tapes, maybe I'm lucky and I can find an old copy with the seperate layers. How stupid I was! #-o o
