Scratches on a screen of a DK-52 was created by panak
Hello,

I own a DK-52 and today unfortunately I scratched the upper screen because something fell on it. Everything is working perfectly, but two scratches are there.
Is there a solution for the scratches? Is this screen replaceable? Please advise.
Kind regards,

Panagiotis

Hi

Yes, you can replace the screen. You could by a cheap DK-52 for spares.
Here is a description (German, but with many pictures) of how to dismantle a DK-52:

I guess it's part Nr. 2 (please see above link), the polarizer film.

So.. I disassemble the upper screen, according to the photos I see, I replace the polarizer film, and assemble again.
So the spare part is the polarizer film.

Two more questions please.
1. Where can I buy a polarizer film for the specific Game and Watch
2. Is there any danger to have bubbles of air between the layers after the replacement??

Regards

I suppose it's the polarizer film. Impossible to tell without good pictuers and depending on how deep the scratches are, it might be another part as well. You need to check all parts once you have disassembled the game.

You can buy polarizer film on ebay. Usually there are sellers that sell polarizer films that are for Multi Screen games (so they will fit!).

All parts are flat, so there can't be air bubbles in between them. I never heard of such a problem.

The scratches are not so deep thankfully.
So I believe the replacement of the film of the polarizer, will do the job.

Thank you so much, for the informations.
