Dear all,

I've just bought a DKII unit with box, styrofoam and instructions and I'm beginning to think I might have been ripped off. The unit itself is fine, the box looks good, but the styrofoam looks fishy to me and the instructions book, I cannot tell, but it looks too new to me.

Anyway. I'm concerned about the styrofoam because if it is fake, it's the best one I've seen. The only thing that made me think so is the fact that the foam has a pattern of small circles of dots instead of small circles of stripes, as usual. Also, at the bottom it shows a little edge all around. It's hard to explain. I've attached the best pictures I can, together with some real Styrofoams of my own for comparison.

It's hard to tell from the pictures. The repro styros I have seen so far clearly could be identified as non original because of their color (not bright white) and different shape.

The one you have I can't tell. I don't remember such an "edge" around the bottom. Unfortunately I have two Multi Screen games only I could check quickly, all the others still are stored away from my last moving. The two styros I just checked (Mickey&Donald and Donkey Kong) don't have such an edge.

Did you ask the seller where he got it from?

Quick update: I talked to the owner, he says that the G&W always belonged to him and it is real. I have seen afterwards a few boards similar to my one, so, it seems like there were styrofoam boards made with the little edge around.
