Fluorescent lamps. Can they damage LCD polarizer? wurde erstellt von kikometallica
I know that sunlight / heat damages LCD filters and causes screen fading. I have my G&W collection stored in boxes, in a fresh place and hidden from light (any kind of light).

I'm thinking on displaying my G&W in my room in a place where no direct sunlight can reach them. But obviously lamp light would. Does anyone know if fluorescent lamps can damage screens in the long term? What about LED lamps?

If would appreciate if someone who has had G&W displayed for years could give some advice. Have you noticed screen fading?

Thanks :GW01:

This is a very interesting question!

I have my games in glas cabinets for about a year now - no damage so far. But in my "showroom" I stil have regular bulp.

I don't think that fluorescent lamps would harm the games but I don't know for sure. I think that museums are using fluorescent lamps as well, don't they?

Thanks for your answer Gawaleus  I hadn't thought about museums. I think I will display multiscreen series for now and try to search more about polarizers. In case I wouldn't find anything I think I will display them anyway. At least I can enjoy watching them in their beauty.
