Update: Game&Watch book latest news
- Details

Everything took more times as planned. The reason is, that the authors Dave and Gerhard manage everything themselves. They have neither a publisher nor they have support from someone else who would help them (or could help) and the work of such a book is enormous!
Well, let's wait and look forward eagerly to the new Game & Watch book!
Reading instead of gaming – a new book about Game&Watch!

The legend of Game & Watch goes on and on!
The legend of Game & Watch goes on and on!Soon a new book about the popular Nintendo Game&Watch handheld games from 80s will be published. The following facts are already known:
its title is Der inoffizielle Game&Watch Sammler-Katalog.
The book is produced by the two authors Dave (David) Gschmeidler and Gerhard Meyer. They are from Vienna in Austria. Since their early days they got into videogame culture, design, music and media.
It will still take some time until everything is ready, but gameandwatch.ch has the worldwide exclusive right to report about it already!
Promotional version Mickey&Donald "siteco"
- Details
It's known that some Game & Watch games were produced as promotional versions.
These are games having an additional (company) logo printed on them, on behalf of companies.
It's unknown how many different ones of them exist. But now another one appeared:
Siteco Mickey & Donald
Siteco is a German company with a subsidiary in France that had given away the promotional games.

And another green Fire!
- Details
We reported a few times about a green Fire FR-27 from the Wide Screen series.
Last time in March 2012 (open article in new Window/Tab).
Usually, the case of a Fire FR-27 is blue, but in very few cases it's green. It's still not clear why the case is green. Conceivable would be a manufacturing fault or that it has to do with the plastic pellets used at that time. However, this would not match the quality management of Nintendo. They would have noticed such errors and hardly brought the games to the market. Maybe Nintendo has deliberately changed to green.
The game shown here comes from a shop located in the Netherlands just across the border to Belgium. Therefore the game might come from Belgium originally and that's why one of the instruction is in French. The green Fire from March 2012 (see link above) had a manual in German. It's unclear if the different instructions were shipped from the beginning with the Games or if they were added later by collectors.
